Celebrate Chinese New Year in Cairns, a 15-day extravaganza featuring a diverse array of public events to herald in the Year of the Horse.  Immerse yourself in the joyous ambiance as the city bursts to life to celebrate the Chinese New Year festivities all building to the finale of the Lantern Festival.  Explore Chinese market stalls against the backdrop of the Cairns Esplanade under the glow of red lanterns, captivating lion and dragon performances, rhythmic drumming,  percussion, music, firecrackers, delectable food stalls , and a spectacular fireworks finale.
